Take What You Need
After posting 20+ signs in the bathrooms of the Student Learning Center at the University of Georgia, I was able to gather that people are more comfortable admitting to what they need when in their own domain. I designed the sign to have tabs at the bottom that you can tear off-- like when advertising yourself for a babysitting job, tutoring, etc. So, when designing the sign i decided that I would title it "Take What You Need" and have the tearable tabs at the bottom contain more personal items such as hope, joy, encouragement, and more that would have a more private and delicate meaning.
I included both of these pictures to show how subtly you can affect someone with words, whether positive or negative. Instagram is an app where you can upload pictures-- usually artistic or photography-- that have some sort of special meaning to the person that uploaded them. Two girls "instagrammed" a picture of the signs that i put in the bathrooms. Both pictures receiving positive notations. To me, this shows how simple yet meaningful words can affect someone especially when residing in a more personal domain. These signs are in the stalls of a bathroom because that is a space where you are by yourself and can admit to any defeat or feelings you may have.
